Winding River Pearl Wedding Ring

Summer days are finally upon us, however, we still find ourselves dreaming of places we haven’t been; pockets of the world the sky has kissed but our eyes have yet to see. Our client, Ryan, shares this same sense of wanderlust, his finished wedding ring design sending us down a gracefully rolling river under a cloudless sky. He says, “ Bethany and I have traveled all over the world and all over the US, and these trips have really been one of the major cornerstones of our relationship. You can call it our biggest shared passion, the love for traveling.”

Cornerstones and passions in tow, Takayas sought to create harmony between both the nature and travel inspirations. Ryan described that his goal for the ring was to, “Capture the feeling of glaciers and rivers in Iceland, the rivers, waterfalls, and mountains of Yosemite National Park, and trees and greenery of Redwood National Park.” The design is centered around a Japanese Akoya pearl, which references back to its organic environment with just one glance. The pearl is held in the center like a globe, with accent diamonds encircling and a river ripple-inspired shank wrapping around it.

Takayas intentionally created this effect as a nod to Bethany and Ryan’s love of world travel. The top of the ring then tapers to a very thin shank at the back, referencing vintage-style pearl rings of decade’s past; Bethany’s favorite type of style. Finally, Takayas added colored accent stones, mimicking the Earth’s oceans wrapping around its core.
