Toi et Moi California Dreaming Engagement Ring

A soon-to-be engaged nature-loving Californian couple reached out to us for their engagement ring. They wanted a ring that encapsulated all the majesty that the Golden State had to offer in a stylish Toi et Moi ring. A Toi et Moi ring is a ring that features two stones, often in different shapes and colors. This “You and Me” ring tells the story of two lovers meeting. It’s a classic and elegant style that has been documented in jewelry history from the 1700s. One of the most famous Toi et Moi rings was gifted by Napoleon Bonaparte to his wife Josephine. It is a romantic ring that is very popular among those who are looking for a stylish option for an engagement ring or even a Right Hand Ring. For this “California Dreaming” engagement ring, Takayas paired their magnificent heirloom diamond and an exquisite sapphire he sourced. Takayas chose a sleek tapered pear-shaped sapphire to counterbalance the round diamond to allay any potential bulkiness that two round stones side by side may express, especially considering the prodigious size of the diamond. An accent diamond sits between the two stones to give the subtle impression of a heart without being too obvious. While completely different colors and shapes, the juxtaposition of the stones creates a heart-shaped centerpiece for the ring. Each gem represents each partner in their precious union. From the center stones, Takayas carved undulating ocean waves boasting sparkling accent diamonds down the shank. The band then transitions to a cascading mountainous landscape with the design consummating into an organic design symbolizing the flowing water of a river. On each side of the centerpiece diamond and sapphire mountings, Takayas placed a unique snowflake representing the abundant snow California receives each winter.
