Spirited Away Inspired Wedding Set

Just like Chihiro and Haku, our wonderful friends first crossed paths in a serendipitous way. From two different cultures and countries, they found it truly unexpected that they would one day meet in university, fall in love, and make a life together. As fortune had it, they came to Takayas Custom Jewelry to create a beautiful wedding set inspired by Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away, capturing the themes of journeys, two different entities meeting, and growing up that are so meaningful to them as a couple!

Rather than diminish the core concept of their special jewelry through overt design elements taken straight from the movie, Takayas crafted unique rings that cleverly represent the story. The traditional Japanese folklore of tunnels, boundaries, and other crossroads as symbols of the place where worlds meet comes to life in designs that are at turns both subtle and stunning.

Spirited Away’s motifs of duality and otherworldliness are reflected in the multiple dimensions of the couple’s engagement ring. Cresting the top, their shining blue topaz centerpiece is bordered by a twirling split-shank, studded with matching topaz accent stones as rich as the sea Chihiro gazes upon.

The passage from one phase of life to another continues in the under-gallery, sculpted into the shape of the amusement park tunnel that transports Chihiro’s family into the world of the spirits. A glittering pink sapphire and white sapphire on each side of the tunnel reflect the characters of Chihiro and Haku.

Their men’s wedding band mirrors the essence of their statement-making engagement ring, boasting a timeless and beautiful style. The sleek, concave shapes of the amusement park tunnel flank each side of another white sapphire accent stone, imbuing the piece with Haku’s personality. Two worlds merge as one in this couple’s incredible set of rings - not just the worlds of Chihiro and Haku, but also their own.
