Monstress Inspired Engagement Ring
Steampunk and antique styles can inspire extraordinary modern jewelry designs. For his beloved partner Elyssa, Cecil asked Takayas Custom Jewelry to craft a stunning engagement ring that reflects the dark, Art Deco-influenced artwork of the comics series Monstress!
The image of an open eye is a recurring motif in Monstress, and the eye emblazoned on Maika Halfwolf's distinctive metal arm makes a statement on each shoulder of Cecil's ring. Intricate carved patterns frame the bright ruby-studded pupils. Shining above, a vivid cushion-cut ruby center stone gleams in a mounting sculpted like the elegant headdress worn by the Shaman Empress.
Sleek gears and finely detailed cables fill the ring's side-gallery, creating a gorgeous steampunk feel. Bezel-set rubies complete Cecil's amazing design with an extra touch of radiant sparkle.
"When I first opened the renders, all I could do was stare and just mutter 'wow'," Cecil said. "This looks absolutely incredible! The detail work, the subtle yet still obvious references." When he proposed a few months later, Elyssa was equally blown away!
