Lunar Tear Engagement Ring Inspired by NieR Replicant
When Howard began planning his fiancée’s engagement ring, he wanted it to reflect both his creativity and their shared love for gaming. Inspired by the delicate beauty of the Lunar Tear flower from NieR Replicant, Howard sent Takayas a thoughtful sketch of his vision. With its intricate petals and meaningful symbolism, the Lunar Tear became the perfect muse for a one-of-a-kind design that would capture his fiancée’s heart.
Takayas deeply enjoyed translating Howard’s sketch into reality. His enchanting NieR: Replicant inspired ring features the iconic Lunar Tear Flower at its center. With a reputation of being notoriously hard to cultivate, the flower mirrors the specialness and scarcity of Howard finding his life partner. At the flower's center, Takayas placed a royal blue sapphire. Through the ages, sapphires have been a popular choice for engagement rings as they are said to symbolize love, fidelity, and harmonious relationships.
Takayas thoughtfully designed the flower so that it would have a lower profile so the petals wouldn’t protrude from the ring. This way it would be less likely to catch or snag on things as well as making it more comfortable for Howard’s fiancée to wear.
Moving on to the rings shank, the twisted band adds a touch of uniqueness, while the marquise-cut blue sapphires on the shoulders add interest to the elegantly timeless white gold band. The luminous band serves as a poignant metaphor for the union of two lives in marriage. The woven design fashioned into the circular round band nods to the connection of the couple’s precious union through eternity with no beginning or end.
