Legend of Zelda Claddagh Anniversary Ring
As Steven and Gillian prepared to celebrate a remarkable 7th anniversary last year, Steven reached out to Takayas with a story and commission that fused their love for each other, the iconic Legend of Zelda, and a Claddagh design symbolic of their steadfast loyalty and friendship. With every part of Steven’s inquiry, it became clear that this ring wasn’t just a piece of jewelry; it would embody their shared journey, cherished memories, and hopeful future.
Takayas thoughtfully took on the challenge of designing a Claddagh ring that honored the Legend of Zelda’s powerful symbols while infusing the ring with a unique elegance and balance. Crafted in gleaming white gold, the design blends the traditional Claddagh elements with Zelda-inspired motifs.
At the ring’s center lies a Zora Sapphire, representing the heart of the Claddagh and a treasured symbol from Zelda, a reminder of their mutual love of gaming. Holding the centerpiece are Link’s hands—a powerful nod to how Steven holds Gillian’s heart so dearly.
Moving along the ring’s shoulders, Zelda's essence comes to life. Takayas integrated the Triforce symbol from Link’s gloves into a sinuous motif inspired by Zelda’s royal design, representing the guiding forces of wisdom, power, and courage that have marked Steven and Gillian’s journey.
The crown element of the Claddagh ring was another aspect where Takayas displayed exceptional thought. Rather than placing Zelda’s crown directly over the heart of the ring, he opted to weave it into the ring’s sides, allowing the Zora Sapphire to stand out while preserving a sleek, balanced aesthetic. The crown itself is adorned with a radiant amethyst. The design concludes with star bursts adorned with twinkling diamonds serving as a reminder of the fateful day they officially became a couple at a rocket launch at Kennedy Space Center.
Takayas incorporated two meaningful symbols into Steven's anniversary ring for Gillian as hidden details on the inside of the band: the Dresden Symbol from The Dresden Files series and the Jedi symbol from Star Wars. These thoughtful additions honor both of their shared interests, adding an extra layer of personalization.
