Mike’s commission with Takayas brought to life a striking Final Fantasy VIII Squall-inspired ring, blending elegance with the essence of a beloved game character. Crafted from gleaming 18K white gold, this custom ring is an ode to the iconic gunblade wielded by Squall Leonhart.

At the heart of the design is a meticulously crafted cylinder, which mirrors the unique shape of Squall’s weapon. Takayas adorned the cylinder with brilliant diamonds, not only at its center but also within each chamber, evoking a sense of power and sophistication.

What makes this ring truly exceptional, though, are the intricate details that honor Squall’s deep connection to the lion—an animal that symbolizes bravery, strength, and pride. The band’s shoulders feature two finely detailed lion heads, their ferocious mouths gently cradling the centerpiece. These lions are a direct nod to Griever, the majestic lion crest Squall wears, further cementing the connection between the ring and its inspiration.

Flowing seamlessly from Griever’s mane, Takayas incorporated the Cross of Saint James along the sides of the ring. This cross, shaped into a delicate fleur-de-lis, extends into the sword’s blade, giving the piece a majestic, regal finish.
