A Tale of Love and Fandoms: William and Nikki’s Bespoke Wedding Rings
When William and Nikki set out to design their wedding rings, they wanted something that would reflect the deep connection they share, not only with each other but with the things they love—gaming, anime, and Doctor Who. They turned to Takayas to help them bring their unique vision to life, resulting in two rings that encapsulate their shared passions and personal journeys.
For Nikki, Takayas crafted a ring that seamlessly blends elements from her favorite games and anime into an elegant, timeless piece. At the heart of her design is a round-cut aquamarine stone, chosen for its luminous, ocean-like beauty, cradled in a gleaming white gold setting. Surrounding the center stone are brilliant blue sapphires that shimmer along the ring's shoulders. Look closely, and you’ll notice a subtle nod to one of Nikki’s favorite Pokémon—Umbreon. Instead of going for a direct representation, Takayas delicately transformed Umbreon’s iconic ears into prongs, creating a whimsical yet understated detail that will endure through the years.
The journey doesn’t end there. Flowing down the band is an intricate motif inspired by Castle in the Sky, incorporating the Laputa symbol and evoking the fantastical charm of Studio Ghibli’s world. This graceful design merges into a reference from Final Fantasy, taking inspiration from Princess Garnet’s headband. And to crown it all, an elegant Triforce design from The Legend of Zelda is nestled in the side gallery, a nod to Nikki’s love for the iconic game. Scattered throughout the ring are sparkling sapphires, creating a resplendent effect that makes the ring feel like a magical artifact from another world.
While Nikki’s ring is a celebration of fantasy and adventure, William’s ring takes a different path, paying homage to his love for Doctor Who and The Lord of the Rings. Takayas designed his ring with a luminous white gold shank, adorned with prominent yellow gold accents inspired by the Tree of Gondor and Aragorn’s necklace. The regal design represents both the strength and wisdom William admires in the character.
At the center of his ring is a playful but meaningful tribute to Doctor Who—a TARDIS motif that stands out with a striking combination of diamonds and blue sapphires. This small yet powerful detail adds a sense of fun and wonder, capturing the essence of William’s favorite time-traveling adventures.
Together, William and Nikki’s rings tell a story not just of their love for each other but of their shared passions and the magical universes they’ve explored together.
