Emerald Cut Diamond Butterfly Engagement Ring

We had really enjoyed previously working with Trey to create a necklace for Vanessa, so when they were ready to get married, we were honored to design Vanessa's butterfly engagement ring.

For her engagement ring, Vanessa requested a very tall emerald cut diamond center stone. Diamonds in this unique, elongated shape are very rare, which made the project all the more rewarding.

Takayas designed the setting withtwo metal plates on the top and bottom of the diamond to further elongate the center stone. These plates also protected the diamond's edges very well by adding extra security without covering up the front of the stone like large prongs would have.This center stone is framed by two trapezoid cut diamond side stones.

Vanessa also wanted to incorporatea butterfly design so Takayas took advantage of the back of the ring's large metal canvas and added a butterfly pattern into the under gallery and the side wall of the ring's setting. Placing the design in the back keptthe front of the piece from becoming too busy.

The cut-outs of the wing pattern also added a lightness to the overall designby nicely breaking up the heaviness of the metal.

We were so touched when after they got married they shared theirwedding picture with us. We wish them both a happy andwonderful marriage!
