Patrick and Monique's Re-created Wedding Ring Set

Patrick came to me with a clear intent in mind: to be able to re-create his wife’s wedding set that they lost some years ago. After Patrick left the military, he had a hard time finding a job. Amidst his financial struggles Patrick and his wife were forced to pawn off the ring to continually support his family. His wife, Monique understood the situation and stood beside him being his rock, but Patrick knew deep inside she was crushed. Today, Patrick owns a small business that employs veterans. Even though the economy is tough for a small business owner, Patrick and his wife Monique made the company thrive. From all the support and strength from Monique through the years, Patrick wanted to surprise Monique with a new wedding set (exactly like the one she lost) with a few upgrades for their 25th wedding anniversary. He wanted to include two small stones that represent the birthstones of their two beautiful children they have now. With Patrick’s beautiful story I tried to surpass his expectations and I was able to re-create a beautiful wedding set that marked another milestone in the lives of Patrick and Monique.

The journey began with a few phone calls, an old image and a simple sketch from Patrick...

We worked together on each part of the design, from remembering the small details to creating the actual rings.

Once the design was done and the rings were cast, I wanted to put as much love into these rings as these two wonderful people show each other.

Patrick's story...

" I want to share my wonderful experience with potential customers. Like many of you, having a custom piece of jewelry made for the most important person in your life is very stressful. You want to make sure you are able to convey the elements you want, but most importantly you want to make sure the artist listens and creates a masterpiece. I knew from our first meeting (via telephone) that Takayas was the right person for the job. Through my very crude drawings he was able to not only meet my HIGH expectations but blow them away!

Twenty something years ago I was in the military, married with a child things were very tough financially. So one day we decided to pawn our wedding rings for milk and diapers...long story short we lost them. I have always felt guilty about letting that happen. Fast forward to today, life is good and we have our 25th anniversary coming up...so I sketched out what her rings looked like (a really bad drawing) and Takayas was able to nail it. Of course he upgraded the diamonds and added something special to the inside of the wedding band...our children s birthstones counter-sunk in to the ring itself. Brilliant move!!!!
