Kingdom Hearts Aqua & Final Fantasy White Mage Inspired Engagement Ring
Throughout their several years together, one fixture in Alex and Vivienne's relationship has been their shared love of video games. After stumbling upon our Facebook page showcasing our many geek-themed jewelry creations, Vivienne dreamed of having Takayas Custom Jewelry create a piece of her very own, too - and it was Alex's goal to transform that dream into a reality! Crafted in two-tone 14K white and rose gold and topped with a sparkling diamond center stone, their unique custom engagement ring pays homage to two of the video game characters Vivienne loves most: Aqua of Kingdom Hearts, and the White Mage class of Final Fantasy.
"Vivienne and I met in University and have been together for six years, having fell in love through our mutual obsession over pop culture, food, and video games," Alex described of their relationship. To this day, the sweet pair have been particularly avid fans of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy - to the point where Vivienne has clocked in thousands of hours into her copy of Final Fantasy XIV! For his special engagement ring, Alex wanted to commemorate the amazing gaming experiences they've shared together, through giving Vivienne a part of her favorite Keyblade Wielder and her personal Warrior of Light that she could carry close to her heart forever. "Much like this character and this archetype, she is always there by my side supporting me," he went on to add.
Forming the delicate shoulders of Alex's stunning two-tone engagement ring, the angular hilt of Aqua's signature Rainfell Keyblade makes a statement in sleek white gold! Tapering downward along the rest of the band, the graceful, diamond-shaped shaft of the blade curves to hug Vivienne's finger. Tear-drop shaped cut-outs and Takayas' clever use of negative space between the patterns of the blade further serve to create compelling visual interest, producing a striking three-dimensional effect.
For a bold contrast, detailing from the White Mage's fabled Thyrus flows from the center of the band in waves of rose gold. One pair of the staff's elegant wings reach to wrap protectively around either side of Aqua's Keyblade, while the other pair extends upward to cradle the magnificent diamond that crowns Alex's ring. Underneath the unique setting, ornate decoration from the weapon's staff creates the undergallery. Beautifully complex and irresistibly wearable, Takayas' artistry has seamlessly melded two distinctive themes into one utterly captivating design he was sure Vivienne would absolutely love!
"Since the proposal, Vivienne has not been able to stop staring at the ring," Alex cheerfully confirmed for us a few weeks after the big reveal. "When she first saw the ring, she was astounded at just how delicate and detailed the ring was. With every glance, she finds different details that she hadn't noticed before."
