Wanderlust Anchor Themed Engagement Ring

Wanderlust anchor themed engagement ring by Takayas Custom JewelryWe love making special engagement rings that encapsulate the shared interests of our customers. Quite often, that shared interest is a video game like Final Fantasy, or a beloved movie like Star Wars… this particular couple loves to travel together!

David and Alison first met in Melbourne and started talking about travel early on in their relationship. Only  a few months later, they were working together on super yachts traveling the Mediterranean Sea. During their two years on the yachts, David got in contact with Takayas to design a unique engagement ring for the woman he wanted to travel through life with.

He told us of their ocean travels and sent pictures of Alison’s tattoos to reference her style, adding that she didn’t really wear jewelry but he’d recently learned she does appreciate vintage jewelry styles.

Based on the inspiration David provided, Takayas created a ship-themed ring with a clean vintage style, decorating the shoulders of the ring with anchors and rope and adding diamond “porthole” details on the front/back of the ring for subtle sparkle.

David told us that he ended up proposing to Alison in Norway on New Year’s Day, after traveling to over 30 countries together! These two traveling love birds are now saving up to buy a restaurant on the Gold Coast of Australia, where David will be the chef and Alison will be the manager… and where they will also hold their wedding!
